Beginner's Guide to Scuba Diving in Bali

7 min read2026-02-25

Bali is consistently ranked as one of the best places in the world to learn scuba diving. Warm water (26-29C), excellent visibility, calm conditions at many sites, professional dive centers, and incredible marine life make it ideal for beginners.

For complete beginners, we offer three entry points: Discover Scuba Diving (1 day, no certification, Rp 1.200.000), PADI Open Water course (3 days, lifetime certification, Rp 5.500.000), or Snorkeling Trips (half day, no diving, Rp 500.000).

The best beginner dive sites in Bali are: Padang Bai Blue Lagoon (calm, clear, rich marine life), Tulamben shallow wreck sections (5-8m, incredible coral), Amed Jemeluk Bay (gentle slope, sea turtles), and Sanur reef (close to shore, mild conditions).

Cost breakdown: diving in Bali is excellent value. Our prices include ALL equipment (you do not need to buy or bring anything), certified guide or instructor, hotel pickup and return, lunch, and insurance. There are no hidden fees.

Common fears addressed: sharks (reef sharks in Bali are shy and harmless to humans), running out of air (your guide monitors your air constantly), drowning (you breathe from a tank with backup systems), ears hurting (we teach equalization techniques).

After your first dive, most people are hooked. The sensation of breathing underwater, the weightlessness, and seeing colorful marine life just meters away is unlike anything else. Bali's warm, clear waters make the experience particularly comfortable for beginners.
