About Diving in Amed, Bali

Amed is a string of fishing villages along Bali's east coast known for pristine coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and a laid-back atmosphere. The area offers diverse diving with coral gardens, walls, and a Japanese shipwreck from World War II. Jemeluk Bay is the most popular site, with a gentle slope covered in hard and soft corals that attracts sea turtles, reef sharks, and schooling fish. The Japanese wreck at Lipah Bay sits at 3-12 meters and is covered in beautiful coral growth. Amed is also excellent for freediving and snorkeling.

Our Amed day trips depart from your accommodation in Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, or anywhere in Bali. The approximately 2-hour drive through scenic rice paddies and traditional villages is part of the experience. We stop for breakfast en route and arrive at the dive sites in the morning when conditions are best and visibility is highest.

The trip typically includes 2-3 dives at different Amed sites. We commonly visit Jemeluk Bay for its stunning coral garden and resident sea turtles, the Japanese wreck at Lipah Bay, and a third site chosen on the day based on conditions and group experience level. Dive guides are knowledgeable macro specialists who know every nudibranch spot and frogfish perch in the area.
