Nusa Penida Manta Point
Dive with giant manta rays at Nusa Penida. Full day trip with 2-3 dives at Manta Point, Crystal Bay, and more.
About the Nusa Penida Manta Point Trip
The Nusa Penida Manta Point trip is Bali's most iconic dive experience. Board our speedboat for the 45-minute crossing to Nusa Penida, where you will dive at Manta Point -- one of the world's most reliable spots to encounter giant oceanic manta rays. Watch these graceful giants with wingspans up to 5 meters glide past you at a cleaning station. The day includes additional dives at Crystal Bay (famous for its sunfish sightings) or other Nusa Penida sites with stunning coral walls and abundant marine life.
Manta Point is a permanent cleaning station where manta rays return daily to have parasites removed by smaller cleaner fish. This predictable behavior means you are virtually certain to encounter mantas here. They glide in slowly, hover motionless over the cleaning station, and allow divers to observe them at close range if you remain still and do not chase them. Our dive guides brief you on proper manta etiquette before the dive.

Nusa Penida Manta Trip FAQs
Will I definitely see manta rays?
Manta Point is one of the world's most reliable manta ray spots. We have an extremely high encounter rate -- over 90% of trips result in manta sightings. However, wildlife encounters cannot be legally guaranteed.
What certification do I need?
Advanced Open Water with 30+ logged dives is strongly recommended. Strong currents are common at Manta Point. Open Water divers with solid experience can be assessed case by case.
What time does the trip depart?
Pickup from Canggu/Seminyak is typically 6:00-7:00 AM. Sanur pickup is closer to 7:30 AM. The boat departs Sanur around 8:00-8:30 AM. First dive is around 9:00-9:30 AM.
Can I also see mola mola?
Mola mola (ocean sunfish) are seasonally present at Crystal Bay from July to October when cold upwellings bring them to shallower water. Outside this season, sightings are rare.
