Many visitors to Bali split their time between the cultural highlands of Ubud and the beach areas of the south coast. What most do not realize is that Ubud is actually closer to some of Bali's best dive sites than Canggu or Seminyak.
Tulamben is just 1.5 hours from Ubud, compared to 2.5 hours from Canggu. The route goes northeast through scenic rice terraces and along the flanks of Mount Agung. You can be on the USS Liberty wreck by 7:30am with an early start.
Amed is similarly about 1.5 hours from Ubud, making it very accessible for a relaxed day of diving on pristine reefs.
Padang Bai is about 1 hour from Ubud, making it the quickest quality dive site to reach. Blue Lagoon is perfect for beginners.
We pick up from central Ubud, Tegallalang, Campuhan, and Penestanan. The drives through east Bali are scenic, passing through rice terraces, traditional villages, and with views of Mount Agung.
For Ubud guests, we can also combine a dive day trip with cultural stops at Tirta Empul temple, Tegallalang rice terrace, or Tirta Gangga water palace on the way to or from the dive sites.
