Tulamben is a small village on Bali's northeast coast, dominated by the presence of Mount Agung and the World War II wreck sitting just 30 meters from shore. The black sand slopes into deep water quickly, and the wreck has become an artificial reef hosting an astonishing diversity of marine life. The best time to dive the Liberty wreck is early morning (7-8am) when the light angles through the wreck and before the day-trip crowds arrive. We depart at 5am from south Bali to make this window.
